ABOUT

Dicle Ay, who received her clinical psychology specialisation from King’s College London, completed her undergraduate psychology degree with high honours at Istanbul Maltepe University, which she entered with a merit scholarship. During her undergraduate education, she worked as an intern psychologist at Bakırköy Mental and Nervous Diseases Hospital and French Lape Hospital.

In addition to her clinical internships, she worked with children diagnosed with cancer as a volunteer in various projects organised in primary and secondary schools under the supervision of Dr. Nesteren Gazioğlu at KAÇUV (Hope Foundation for Children with Cancer) and TOÇEV (Tüvana Education Foundation for Children with Reading Wishes).

In 2019, as a trainee psychologist and research assistant in London, she worked with individuals diagnosed with psychosis and at risk of psychosis in the National Health System NHS in England. She completed her master’s degree with the first place with her thesis examining the effect of childhood traumas on the amygdala and hippocampus regions of the brain in schizophrenia using MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging).

Dicle Ay lives in London and she is a Wellbeing Specialist at Zevo Health and a Clinical Psychologist at Heltia, Fitcy Health, and in private practice with her clients living in Turkey and other countries (UK, Germany, USA, Netherlands, Estonia etc.) since September 2020. She uses self-compassion and mindfulness practices along with acceptance and commitment therapy in her sessions.
